Hislop Road is a regeneration-led affordable housing development in Rugeley, delivered by Owl Partnerships in collaboration with Platform Housing Group.

Located on the site of a former youth centre, the development has transformed an underutilised brownfield site into a high-quality residential community, bringing new life and purpose to a location that had remained vacant following the demolition of the previous building.

Prior to development, the site consisted largely of open grassland and the remaining concrete slab from the former youth centre. Recognising the opportunity to create much-needed affordable housing while revitalising the area, Owl Partnerships secured planning permission for 18 new affordable homes and worked closely with Platform Housing Group to bring the scheme forward.

The completed development provides a range of high-quality homes designed to meet local housing demand and support individuals and families seeking affordable housing within the Rugeley area. Careful consideration was given to the design and layout of the development to ensure it integrated successfully with the surrounding neighbourhood while creating a welcoming place for residents to call home.

Beyond the homes themselves, the project has delivered wider community benefits through the regeneration of a previously unused site. By transforming a vacant piece of land into an active residential neighbourhood, the development has helped strengthen the local area and make better use of existing infrastructure and services.

The scheme demonstrates how partnership-led regeneration can unlock opportunities within established communities, creating lasting value while addressing local housing needs.
