Teams across Owl Homes and Owl Partnerships came together this month to support Mental Health Awareness Week, raising funds for charity while taking time to focus on wellbeing, connection and supporting one another.
Throughout the week, colleagues took part in a range of activities designed to promote positive mental health and encourage conversations around wellbeing. From sharing positive affirmations across the business to joining a team wellbeing walk, the initiative brought people together and highlighted the importance of looking after both ourselves and each other.
One of the week’s highlights was a charity cake sale, which raised an impressive £244 for the Mental Health Foundation. Colleagues showcased their baking talents, with a fantastic selection of homemade treats proving popular across the business and helping to generate generous donations for a worthy cause.
The team also laced up their walking shoes for a lunchtime wellbeing walk, collectively adding almost 29,000 steps while enjoying the opportunity to get outdoors, catch up with colleagues and take a break from the working day.
Mental Health Awareness Week provided an opportunity to reflect on the importance of creating supportive workplaces where people feel comfortable talking openly about their wellbeing. At Owl, we believe that supporting our people is just as important as delivering quality homes and communities, and initiatives like these play an important role in fostering a positive and caring culture across the business.
The funds raised will support the Mental Health Foundation’s ongoing work to improve mental wellbeing across the UK through research, community programmes and awareness initiatives.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who donated, baked, walked and got involved throughout the week. The enthusiasm and support shown across the business made the week a great success, and we look forward to continuing to explore ways to support the wellbeing and mental health of our teams in the future.
