Owl Group acquires Drakes Broughton site for new affordable homes

Owl Group has completed the acquisition of a 3.74-acre development site in Drakes Broughton, Worcestershire, marking another milestone in the Group’s continued growth across the West Midlands.

Located on Stonebow Road, the development will be delivered by Owl Partnerships, Owl Group’s affordable housing business, and will provide 30 high-quality affordable homes for local people. Detailed planning permission has already been secured for the scheme, which will deliver a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes, alongside private parking, landscaped public spaces and retained green corridors.

The development has been carefully designed to complement the surrounding village, with extensive new tree planting and landscaping helping to create an attractive, sustainable new neighbourhood.

Paul Breen, Managing Director for Owl Group – West Midlands, said:

“This acquisition is another important step in our growth across the West Midlands and reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality homes in communities where they’re needed most.

“Drakes Broughton is a thriving village with a strong community, excellent local amenities and a real sense of belonging. We’re proud to be investing here and helping to create opportunities for more people to put down roots in a place they can call home.”

Stonebow Road becomes Owl Group’s fourth active development in the West Midlands, with a further 17 sites progressing through the pipeline.

The development will feature six different house designs, including homes that benefit from dual-aspect views, while generous green corridors along the northern and western boundaries will be retained to enhance biodiversity and preserve the site’s natural character.

Paul added:

“We’ve worked hard to ensure this development feels like a natural extension of the village. By combining thoughtfully designed homes with attractive green spaces, we’re creating a neighbourhood where people will enjoy living for many years to come.

“We’re looking forward to announcing our housing association partner shortly, ahead of construction starting later this year.”
