Best in the West! Chris Williams wins regional NHBC Award

Our site manager, Chris Williams has been crowned the ‘best in the west’, winning two awards at last Friday’s (20 September) NHBC’s Pride in the Job ceremony, including a prestigious Regional Award.

Chris, who is the site manager for our Mortimer Manor development in Bewdley, was one of 15 site managers from the West region to be awarded a ‘Seal of Excellence’ at the ceremony, which was held at the ICC in Birmingham. From this elite group, just four were selected for Regional Awards, with Chris being announced the winner in the Medium Builder category.

“This is the first time I’ve been part of this stage of the competition, after winning my first Quality Award in June,” says Chris. “To have my site recognised as exemplary in the West region is an incredible achievement that I’m extremely proud of. The whole team at Mortimer Manor works hard to maintain a safe and tidy environment where they can create outstanding homes for our customers, so I’m thrilled that this strive for perfection has been rewarded.”

NHBC Pride in the Job has been running for 44 years and has become the benchmark for the UK’s best site managers. Aiming to raise standards in housebuilding, judging focuses on build quality, teamwork and process, and is assessed by NHBC inspectors, regional directors and independent professionals. Winning site managers must demonstrate incredible dedication and leadership, as well as technical expertise, attention to detail and health and safety excellence.

As a Regional Award winner, Chris is eligible for the next stage of the competition, the national Supreme Awards, which will be held on 24 January 2025.

Our Managing Director, Dave Bradley comments: “Chris has been managing Mortimer Manor since the development was launched in January so we were thrilled when he was announced as a Quality Award winner, meaning he is among the top 5% of site managers in the country.

“To have now gone a step further and been recognised with both the Seal of Excellence and the Regional Award is remarkable, and a real credit to his professionalism. Everyone at Owl Homes congratulates Chris on becoming a triple award-winning site manager and hope this success continues at the Supreme Awards,” adds Dave.
