Investing in the Next Generation of Leaders at Owl

Leadership Development Programme supports colleagues as they take the next step in their careers

At Owl, we believe that great businesses are built by great people.

As the business continues to grow, so too does our commitment to supporting colleagues in their personal and professional development. That’s why we’re investing in the next generation of leaders through our Leadership Development Programme, designed to help new and aspiring managers build the skills, confidence and mindset needed to lead successful teams.

This week, we welcomed back Kim Churchill MCIPD of Brown Bear Training for the second session in the programme, delivering an engaging and practical workshop focused on the realities of leadership and the transition from individual contributor to manager.

Supporting Growth Beyond Technical Skills

Moving into a leadership role is one of the most significant milestones in any career. While technical expertise is often what earns people promotion opportunities, leading others requires a completely different skillset.

The programme has been designed to equip participants with the tools and confidence to navigate that transition successfully, helping them develop their own leadership style while creating positive experiences for the people they lead.

Topics explored during the latest session included:

  • Moving from individual contributor to leader
  • Empowering and developing teams
  • Delegation and accountability
  • Managing performance and underperformance
  • Leading through change and uncertainty
  • Building leadership presence and confidence

Investing in People for the Long Term

At Owl, development is viewed as a long-term investment. By creating opportunities for colleagues to learn, grow and take on new challenges, the business is building leadership capability that will support its future success.

Strong leaders play a vital role in shaping culture, supporting teams and delivering positive outcomes for customers, partners and communities. Programmes such as this ensure that Owl’s future leaders are equipped not only with practical management skills, but also with the confidence to help others succeed.

Amanda Bishop, Growth Director at Owl Group, said:

“Investing in our people isn’t just about skills. It’s about growth, confidence and creating the next generation of leaders.

Organisations grow when their people grow, and we’re proud to be creating opportunities for our colleagues to develop, take on new challenges and build rewarding careers at Owl.”

Building a Culture of Continuous Development

The Leadership Development Programme forms part of Owl’s wider commitment to learning and development across the business, ensuring colleagues have access to the support, training and opportunities they need to reach their potential.

We’d like to thank Kim Churchill and Brown Bear Training for delivering another valuable and engaging session, and congratulate everyone who has taken part in the programme so far.

As Owl continues to grow, investing in people will remain at the heart of our approach — because the strongest businesses are built by teams that are supported to learn, develop and thrive.
